How many visits do I need?
When you have a chronic condition, the first visit to your naturopath is a consultation during which we get to know you, your goals, and your concerns. We'll discuss types of treatment appropriate to your lifestyle, values, and concerns. Your case will be considered in depth and a treatment plan presented to you on your second visit. The number of visits required will be discussed then.
If you have an acute complaint, you will recieve treatment on your first visit if necessary and we will discuss the long term treatment (if required).
Frequency of visits: Problems with pain management often require weekly visits until the pain is resolved, while problems with hormonal regulation more typically require a visit every 3 months until the problem is solved. Other issues require treatment frequencies that lie somewhere in between.
Length of treatment: A general rule of thumb is that you will require one week of treatment for every month that you've suffered with a chronic problem. This rule is very flexible and your improvement can occur much more rapidly or slowly depending on your body's ability to heal, the appropriateness of the treatment plan, and how closely you comply with the treatment plan outlined.
